This initiative is designed to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transport, reduce traffic congestion, and improve air quality in our surroundings. How Much Can You Save?
The program offers specific incentives depending on the type of bicycle you choose:
• Electric City Bikes (Tipologia 4): You can receive an incentive of 50% of the purchase price (including VAT), up to a maximum of €750. This applies specifically to new e-bikes designed for city use.
• Electric Cargo Bikes (Tipologia 3): For those needing to transport passengers or bulky items, the incentive covers 50% of the purchase price, up to €1,500.
• Conventional City Bikes (Tipologia 6): If you prefer a non-electric city bike, you can still claim 50% of the value, up to €500.
Note on Limits: Individuals are limited to one incentive each, while legal entities (companies) can apply for up to four incentives.

Step-by-Step Guide to Claiming Your Incentive
Benefiting from this program requires following a specific administrative process. Here is what you need to do:
1. Ensure Your Purchase is Eligible
To qualify, your e-bike must be new and the invoice must be dated after 1 January 2025. The bike must be intended for city use or cargo, as mountain bikes or scooters (trotinetes) fall under different categories or are excluded from Tipologia 4.
2. Register on the Fundo Ambiental Platform
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Fundo Ambiental website. If you haven’t already, you will need to register an account on their portal.
3. Submit Your Candidacy (Starting 29 December 2025)
The application window opens on 29 December 2025. It is vital to apply as soon as possible because applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget for each category is exhausted. You will need to provide:
• Your NIF (Tax Identification Number).
• An IBAN for the account where you wish to receive the funds.
• Proof that your status is regularised with both the Tax Authority (Autoridade Tributária) and Social Security.
4. Upload Vehicle Documents and Request Payment
Once your candidacy is approved, you have 90 days to submit a formal payment request. At this stage, you must provide:
• The invoice and proof of payment (receipt) in your name, dated after 1 January 2025.
• The invoice must include the chassis number of the bicycle.
• If the bike was acquired via financial leasing, you must provide the full contract (minimum 24-month duration) and an official delivery note.
5. Receive Your Payment
After the Fundo Ambiental validates your documents, the incentive amount will be transferred directly to your bank account.

• Don’t Delay: There are only 3,750 incentives available for e-bikes (T4) and 800 for cargo bikes (T3). Once the budget is gone, the portal for that category may close.
• Check the Dates: The application period lasts for 45 days from the opening date (29 December 2025) or until the money runs out.
• Digital Only: No documents are accepted via email; everything must be uploaded through the official online form.
